چکیده

The results of an empirical, case-study analysis demonstrate that PV will become cost-effective as a distributed resource long before it becomes a costeffective, central station, energy supply option. This conclusion is based on the assumption that the nontraditional benefits that distributed PV systems offer to the electrical system and to utility customers, including transmission and distribution equipment deferrals and peak-shaving, are incorporated into cost-effectiveness analyses. The paper concludes that it is critical to capture the non-traditional or “distributed” benefits associated with investments in dispersed PV systems in order to commercialize the technology in grid-connected applications.

This paper develops a simple model of the rise and fall of the large corporate lab. Large firms can either grow through internal research carried out inside their labs, or by commercializing external inventions created by start-ups. Invention by start-ups is spurred by university research. Internal research exhibits an inverted-U pattern driven by two trends: (i) the rise of university research...

Photovoltaics (PVs) consists of the harvesting of energy from sunlight and its conversion into electrical power. This technology is being increasingly recognized as one of the key components in our future global energy scenario. Limited fossil fuel resources and steadily increasing costs of supplying fossil fuels to the market induce a natural limit where renewable energies will begin to kick i...

The reliability assessment of distribution networks is one of the most important issues which the designers are challenging. In this paper, reliability assessment of a distribution network that include distributed generation is studied using Monte Carlo method. There are photovoltaics (PVs), wind turbines (WTs) and gas reciprocating engine (GREs) in this distributed generation. Normal and Weibu...
